From NJ / PA, the Albany area, and most points South and West:

I-87 North to Albany, NY
Exit 23 onto I-787 North, and go about 9 miles
Exit 9E onto NY-7 East (Troy/Bennington)
Follow 7E to Rte 279 into Vermont and VT Rte 7 North
Take Exit 4 (Manchester), turn right onto Rte 11/30 East
14 miles to Londonderry, Rte 11, and turn left onto VT-100 North
About 2 miles north of Weston, watch for right turn to continue on VT-100 N toward Ludlow.
In Ludlow, VT-100 N makes sharp left turn again.
About 2 miles north of Ludlow, VT-100 N again makes a sharp right turn to continue 9 more miles to Plymouth Union and Salt Ash Inn.

From NYC Boroughs and Long Island:

Get to I-684 North, in the White Plains area, and take this to I-84 across central CT to Hartford.
In Hartford, get onto I-91 North and up to VT.
Once on I-91, follow directions below "from Hartford, CT."
An alternate route through southern CT to Hartford is CT-15 (Taconic Pkwy) to I-91 North.

From Hartford, CT (and from most of west/central CT and MA):

Take your best route to get to I-91 North
From I-91 in VT, take Exit #6 "Rockingham/Chester" onto VT-103 North (or West), and go about 8 miles into Chester
In Chester, VT-103 makes sharp right turn "to Ludlow." Continue about 12 miles to Ludlow
About 2 miles north of Ludlow, make sharp right turn onto VT-100 North (where VT-100 North diverges from VT-103)
Salt Ash Inn is 9 miles north on VT-100. In front of the inn, turn right onto VT 100A and then park in either of our parking areas on your left

From Boston, Providence, Cape Cod:

Take your best route to get to I-93 North, going north from Boston
From I-93, just north of Manchester, NH, exit onto I-89 North
Go 65 miles across all of NH on I-89 North, and then take the first VT exit (Exit #1) off of I-89 ("US-4 to Woodstock/Rutland"). Turn left at end of off-ramp onto US-4 West
Stay on US-4 West for about 24 miles to Bridgewater Corner. (You will pass through Quechee, Woodstock, and Bridgewater Village while on US-4. These towns are notorious speed traps (25 mph) - so be warned!!!)
At Bridgewater Corner, watch carefully for the left-hand turn-off onto VT-100A South. There's a large country store with Mobil gas pumps at this corner where you turn left, but no stop sign or signal light. Don't miss it!
Go 6 miles on VT-100A South. The Salt Ash Inn will be at the bottom of the steep hill on your right, where Route 100A meets Route 100.
